Miss Misery is a one-woman show run by photographer and creative director River Simmons out of her home in San Diego, California. Miss Misery, whose namesake pays homage to the late Elliott Smith, was created during a time of healing and self-discovery, in pursuit of turning limitation into creation. Pulling inspiration from costume design and childhood nostalgia, the brand serves as a love letter to recovery, resilience, and the power of make believe.
